Jazz eSIM launches in Pakistan; Here’s how you can use it

Jazz, the largest telecom company in Pakistan has launched the first-ever eSIM in Pakistan. The new Jazz eSIM offers a much smarter technology that can challenge the popular physical SIM cards in the future. While only a few smartphones offer this feature at the moment, it is nice to have this option available for the telecom users.

What is eSIM

The term eSIM means electronic or embedded SIM card. It is basically which is basically a chip inside your smartphone which eradicates the need for a physical SIM card as the SIM technology is built right into a smartphone that can authenticate the user’s ID with the carrier/telecom operator.

When you are using more than two telecom networks, you need to manually remove the physical SIM card to access the number from the other company. Thankfully, with eSIM you neither have to switch phones or the SIM cards to access different accounts.

This technology also makes it super easy to switch from the services of one telecom company to another for good without a hassle. As of right now, Only Jazz offers eSIM in Pakistan so you will have to wait to take advantage of this feature.

How to Register and Activate Your Jazz eSIM

Here’s how you can register your Jazz eSIM in Pakistan:

  • Go to Jazz Business center to register eSIM on your number
  • Provide biometric verification
  • After registration, you’ll get a QR code on a voucher

Once you have registered your eSIM, you will have to activate it on your smartphone. Here’s how you can do it:

  • Connect your phone to a stable WiFi connection
  • Go to settings and then choose the option cellular
  • Select “Add Cellular Plan”
  • Scan the QR code on your smartphone
  • the eSIM will be activated in 5 minutes

The telecom operator is offering free eSIM registration for a limited period of time. Also, in case you are switching your smartphone, you will need a new QR code to activate the Jazz eSIM

  • iPhone XS
  • iPhone XS Max
  • iPhone XR
  • Google Pixel 3
  • Google Pixel 3 XL

Currently, Jazz does not provide support for Apple Watch.
