Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 will be the third iteration of the company’s highly popular Mix series. Mix phones have been known to be original and innovative since their advent. As the idea of introducing the notch originally came from the Essential phone to achieve a higher screen to body ratio, the idea of eliminating the notch in a more refined way came from the Chinese giant.
Although there may be much time left in the announcement, the phone has already started making rounds and leaks have been surfacing in high frequency. Here, we have accumulated all that we know about the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3.

A teaser poster recently surfaced on the Chinese social media with a silhouette of a phone having a pop-up selfie camera. Although the name isn’t mentioned, as we know that Xiaomi is always aggressive with the design in Mix series, this could highly likely be the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3.
Earlier, the live images of Mix 3 also leaked online but were proved fake afterward. However, this doesn’t end here. More and more rumors are pouring in and some new renders of the phone have been spotted in a report by the website ITHome.
These images suggest that the phone may have a higher screen to body ratio than its predecessors. The company had already filed patents for the front camera in 2015 and the patent pages shared in the report suggest a pop-up selfie camera on the phone. The phones also seem to be missing the chin most phones have nowadays.
As per the leaked renders, the smartphone seems to be made out of glass, with a dual camera at its back. The fingerprint sensor can’t be spotted in the renders which means that Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 might finally feature an in-display fingerprint scanner just like Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition and the Vivo Nex.
Keeping itself mainstream, Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is expected to feature a Snapdragon 845 chipset accompanied by an 8 GB of ample RAM. The phone might have 256 GB of onboard storage and is definitely expected to have multiple storage options to choose from.
As for the software, the phone is expected to feature Android 8.1 with a layer of Xiaomi’s MIUI 10 which has been released alongside the company’s latest flagship Xiaomi Mi 8.
With the previous iterations, the launch cycle of the Mix series has been around September or October. However, with the Mi Mix 2s, it has been altogether changed to March.
Although the company hasn’t confirmed anything about the launch date, we can safely assume based on rumors that the launch of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 may take place in September 2018.
