Xiaomi Mi 9 to Come with Snapdragon 855 Chipset and in-Display Fingerprint Scanner

Xiaomi Mi 9 is getting all the attention these days due to it’s nearing launch on February 20. Earlier this week,  Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun revealed that the upcoming flagship will be equipped with a total of four cameras; a triple-rear camera setup and a single selfie shooter and will be specifically very powerful device.

Recent reports reveal that the Xioami Mi 9 could the all super-powerful flaship from the company. Infact it could be the first phone from any Chinese manufacturer that will come with the latest Snapdragon 855 chipset from qualcomm. Yesterday Xiaomi released a “chat video” where the CEO Lei Jun and brand ambassador Wang Yuan could be seen talking about the device.

Lei Jun also shared some pretty amazing renders of the phone in Blue and Purple color variants. He claimed that the Xiaomi mi 9 sports such unique colors because it is built with laser engraving holographic technology and dual layer nano-level coating.

The device is expected to come with a 6.4-inch screen having a waterdrop ntoch. Since we don’t see any traditional fingerprint scanner on the phone in its renders, it is highly likely that the handset will come with an in-display fingerrprint sensor. While we don’t know the exact battery capacity, it is speculated that Xiaomi Mi 9 will come with a 3500mAh power source.

For the camera, though it was rumored that the phone will come with a 48MP snapper along with a 3D ToF camera, Jun clarified that it will have a main sensor, a depth of field sensor and a super wide-angle lens. Xiaomi Mi 9 will debut on February and it seems that it has all the potential to rival the Samsung Galaxy S10 which is launching around same date this month.
