It has been over ten days since the launch of one of this year’s most anticipated phone, the Vivo Nex, which was earlier known as Vivo Apex. The main highlight of the phone is its high screen to body ratio due to which the company had to adjust a pop-up selfie camera in the body of the phone.
The phone was launched in China for now and there’s no news on when or whether it will be available globally or not. The phone retails at a high price due to the cutting edge screen technology used in the phone.
Vivo Nex comes in two storage variants. The 8GB RAM version with 128GB internal storage sells for $692 and the 8GB RAM with 256GB internal storage sells for $769. The phone became available on the company’s online store in China on 23rd June. Despite being a high priced phone as compared to its competitors, Vivo Nex managed to sell out in just 4 hours of its availability.
It is common to see some of the good budget phones selling out so quickly after their launch but keep in mind that Vivo Nex is a premium phone that costs way more than a budget device and still managed to sell out in just 4 hours which means that the appeal of innovative design came over the high price of the phone.
However, Vivo Nex is not the only phone to offer an all screen experience. Oppo Find X is also the new player in the game to install a pop-up camera module in order to stretch its display size to the whole front of the phone.
As the smartphone industry is moving towards future, we get to see unique innovation from the manufacturers. Huawei has introduced its GPU Turbo Tech to enhance the speed and minimize the power consumption in their phones. Similarly, we expect to see such innovative ideas from OEMs that move on to enhance the user experience.
