These Smartphones Can Play Netflix HD and HDR Content

HDR is a buzzword in the world of displays right now. It means if a display is HDR compatible, it can present a much brighter and wider color range and a higher contrast and produces brighter highlights of the scene while remaining accurate in the darker parts of the view.

Though it was already present in the TVs for quite some time, HDR display technology came to smartphones with the Galaxy Note 7 and has now extended to many other flagships. Mobile HDR can further be categorized into HDR 10 and Dolby Vision.

HDR 10 is more common among the two and gives you a
4,000 nits brightness at its peak along with 10-bit color depth and is supported by a number of devices. Dolby vision, on the other hand, is a step ahead of HDR 10 and gives you a peak brightness of 10,000 nits along with 12-bit color depth and is currently supported by only iPhone X and LG G6
