In 2018, Vivo remained on the innovative front in smartphone design. We saw the Vivo Apex concept that awed us with its bezel-less display and pop-up camera and then went on to become the Vivo Nex for commercial release. Vivo also gave us the world’s first in-screen fingerprint scanner in the X20 Plus UD and now the company is gearing up for yet another smartphone which will change the industry standards.
A reliable tipster ‘IceUniverse’ has taken it to Twitter to show a mysterious phone which is codenamed as ‘The Waterdrop’. The leaker claims that this phone will possess a very unique design, something that has never been seen on any other smartphone till now.
He also shared an image that only shows the corner of the phone. From the image, it’s pretty unclear which material is it made of or what is the design language but perhaps the fluid look in phone’s design is where it got “The Waterdrop” name.
The leaker also says that “this phone will subvert people’s past perception of smartphones” and while this is a pretty bold claim to make, it still got us pretty exciting to witness the design wonders the device is going to offer upon its launch.
Its great to see that the Chinese Smartphone makers are thinking outside the box. Vivo has already taken all the praise for its Vivo Nex Dual Screen phone and has constantly been evolving. Apart from that, the company has also provided great devices in its regular line-ups like the Vivo V11 Pro and the budget Vivo Y91.
Though we would love to see The Waterdrop phone as soon as possible it seems that we have to wait till the company launches it on MWC 2019.
