Telenor Pakistan in partnership with the smartphone manufacturer, Condor has launched the fifth generation of Infinity smartphones in the country. Infinity 5 series is the successor of company’s Infinity 4 series and includes three smartphones named Infinity i5, Infinity e5 and Infinity e5 Pro.
The new smartphones are part of Telenor Pakistan’s connectivity goals where the company aims to not only provide telecom and digital services but also the tools to utilize them. The internet penetration is gradually increasing in the country with around 67, 478,100 3G/4G subscribers by the end of April 2019 and this number will keep on growing.
To utilize the latest services, people are adopting the digital lifestyle by ditching their worn out feature phones in favor of a smartphone. Looking at this trend, Telenor Pakistan is introducing its own entry-level devices which are budget friendly but looking at the influx of devices from Samsung, Honor, Nokia, Tecno, etc. in the same price category, we are not sure how the telecom giant plans to differentiate its smartphones from the well-recognized brands.
We do not know much about the specifications of the smartphone at the moment as the company has yet to update its website but we do know that the new Infinity 5 series provides users with 500MB of free internet, 500 free SMS’s irrespective of the networks, 500 free on-net minutes and with 50 free off-net minutes for one month. Moreover, they will also get a one-year subscription to Golootlo for free upon purchase of a new phone from the series.
