Who doesn’t know TCL for its LCD TVs that are quite popular even in the US? The latest version of TCL mobile phones are on their way?
They provide phones to a couple of different companies but this time, their roadmap for 2019/2020 to bring TCL branded phones leaked by Evan Blass who shared on Twitter the images of upcoming TCL smartphones including a folding phone as well.
TCL T1, TCL T1 Pro, TCL T1 5G, TCL T1 Pro 5G, and FLEXTAB are the devices the Chinese company plans to bring.
It is the basic among the TCL mobile phones and comes with a punch hole which it has patented as Dotch display. The dotch is placed on the left side of the display that also houses a 24MP lens for selfies, and similarly, there lies a triple camera setup on the back with 48MP (primary lens), 16MP (ultra-wide-angle lens) and 2MP (depth sensor). The cameras are placed horizontally on the rear side guarded by two LED flashes, seems like it is designed to do wonder under low light.
On the front side, there is a 6.53” full HD screen that makes 90% screen-to-body ratio.
The T1 will have 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 675 and 3820 mAh battery coupled with 18W fast charging, which looks a decent capacity.
GizmoChina reports that T1 will come with USB-C support and Android 9.0 out of the box with a promise to upgrade it to Android Q and a fingerprint scanner on the backside. The mid-range phone might fall in $ 330 – $ 440 price bracket.
TCL T2 Pro
The Pro version is planned for the first quarter in 2020, and it will boast a full view Edge AMOLED display and a quad-camera on the backside. Expected price is between $ 440 – $ 550.
Both of the above TCL mobile phones will have a respective 5G variant in the second and third quarter of 2020.
By the time TCL brings its folding phone, probably all major phone makers will have introduced their respect phones including Samsung and Huawei.
FLEXTAB folds inward, and as per leaks, it will also carry AMOLED display. Its rumored price is $ 1440.
It’s too early to predict TCL mobile phones for Pakistani market where Samsung, Huawei, Oppo, and Vivo have occupied a bigger segment of the mid-range category.
