Samsung mobile phones prices in Pakistan have dropped suddenly. Interestingly the announcement came on the day when Huawei launched its P series flagship phone P30 Pro and P30 along with various other gadgets in Paris.
The handsets which saw a price reduction are Galaxy S10 and Galaxy A9. Earlier the retail price for newly launched Galaxy S10 was PKR 164,999 that has come down to PKR 142,500, a 13.6% price reduction.
Similarly, Galaxy A9 cost PKR 99,999 to end user that is now available for PKR 79,999, a 20% price reduction.
This is not the first time Samsung has brought down the prices of its flagship phones soon after their launch; a similar trend was noticed which is quite rare for Pakistani buyers.
Back in 2018, Samsung has increased its mobile phone prices twice in the second quarter on account of rising Dollar-PKR exchange rate.
Sources at the retail market have confirmed that slow sale trend of Galaxy S10 has compelled the Korean smartphone seller to bring down the price.
“Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus which is priced at PKR 185,000 is doing good in Pakistan as compared to the smaller version, Galaxy S10, however, A9 is nearly a dead product in terms of sales”, commented a leading retailer in Lahore.
Galaxy S10 comes with a 6.1-inch display which is a Dynamic AMOLED screen offering a 1440×3040 resolution. The flagship further boasts Exynos 9820 octa-core / Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset powering Android 9 pie and One UI.
On the other hand, Galaxy A9 belongs to 2018 lineup which is a Super AMOLED display of 6.3 inches. The mid-ranger sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 and Android Oreo.
