In the race to launch the world’s first phone with a camera hole in the display, Samsung has taken the lead from Huawei and has announced to launch the Galaxy A8s with the infinity-O display on December 10.
Earlier Huawei Nova 4 was announced to launch on December 17 with a hole in display tech but on its official Weibo account, Samsung revealed a poster that shows the launch date of the phone, a week earlier than its competitor.
As the poster shows, the hole in the display will come punched on the left corner which will be home to front facing camera. Samsung’s upcoming flagship Galaxy S10 is also rumored to come with the hole in display tech but since it’s not official yet, we suggest you take it with a pinch of salt.
As per the rumors, Galaxy A8s will be powered by the Snapdragon 710, a midrange yet powerful chipset. Accompanying the processor will be 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of onboard storage. The phone is also reported to have a 6.39-inch display which will be manufactured by BOE.
For the optics, the phone includes a triple rear camera setup with 25MP+5MP+10MP lenses and on the front, it will host a 24MP selfie camera. All of this will be powered by a 3400mAh battery.
