Samsung kills off Galaxy J series in favor of Galaxy A series

In Pakistan, we are too familiar with Samsung Galaxy J series which offers budget devices for people even though they fail to garner much attention as compared to the Chinese alternatives that have dominated this segment. Recently, the South Korean giant revamped its Galaxy A series and is now scraping off the J series in the favor of the first.

The company has been considering to end the Galaxy J series in order to strengthen Galaxy A series and now it has finally announced it through Samsung Malaysia’s official YouTube channel.

The two series will merge together and offer budget and mid-range devices to users under the moniker of Galaxy A series. The company has already introduced Galaxy A30, Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A10 in the Pakistani market while Galaxy A20, Galaxy A30, Galaxy A50, Galaxy A70 have already been revealed in other markets.

The other new devices in the series, Galaxy A60, Galaxy A90, and Galaxy A80 are expected to launch on April 10. The company is rumored to bring a smartphone with a sliding camera to take on the pop-up camera culture rampant in the Oppo and Vivo smartphones.

With the A series, the company is looking forward to reclaiming the market share in the budget and midrange category which it lost to Chinese companies due to the sole focus on its flagship S and Note series. Let’s see if it can keep up in the specs department while holding the banner of affordability in the future.
