Samsung’s J series is spanned across entry-level smartphones to budget smartphones and provide with a versatile list to choose from. We already have seen J3, J5 and J7 in the series and Samsung plans to further expand by adding a new member, the Galaxy J6.
Rumours have been circling around the design, specs and launch of the phone and it’s not been long since we got to see the phone in leaked hands-on photos that surfaced online a few days back.
Although rumours were that Samsung would include their famous infinity display but turn out that the phone has quite hefty bezels and not the display that we expected. Other than that the Galaxy J6 is expected to sport a 5.6-inch HD+ AMOLED display with a 1480×720 resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. It might be powered by Exynos 7870 SoC and come in several RAM options including a 2GB, 3GB and a 4GB RAM.
Similarly, the smartphone is expected to come in two storage variants including a 32GB options and a 64GB variant. The device might be backed by a 3000 mAh battery and come with dual SIM support. The optics on the Galaxy J6 are anticipated to come with a 13-megapixel camera at the back and an 8-megapixel camera at the front for selfies.
Samsung has sent out invitations about a launch event on May 21. Although no model is specified for launch, it is likely that Samsung will introduce the Galaxy J6.
The display design on the invitation resembles that of Samsung’s flagship phones while the leaked photos suggest otherwise. Moreover, according to the leaks, Samsung is only providing an HD display which should not be sufficient considering the competitive environment between smartphones where other companies are already manufacturing Full HD displays on their budget phones.
