Samsung has finally unveiled its two new mid-range devices from its Galaxy A series, Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A80. The smartphones follow the previously announced Galaxy A50, Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A10 devices in the same series.
The South Korean smartphone giant has always used its mid-range galaxy A series to showcase an innovative feature, for instance, the punch hole display and triple camera setup in the past. This time, we can feast our eyes on not just any pop-up camera but a rotating one. let’s break down the specs of the two devices:
The new Galaxy A80 comes with a pretty unique pop-up camera design which frees up a lot of space in the display front. The motorized pop-up camera has a spring-loaded rotate mechanism that can turn the rear camera to face forward when you are taking a selfie.
With the presence of a 48MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a TOF sensor, you can be sure that the selfies are better than ever.
Galaxy A80 is quite a premium mid-range device as it comes with Snapdragon 730 chipset, 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage without a MicroSD slot. We have almost all of 6.7 inches of Super AMOLED display available for ourselves and an in-display fingerprint scanner for better protection.
Galaxy A80 packs a 3700mAh battery with 25W Super Fast Charging and will be available in three colors; Phantom Black, Angel Gold, and Ghost White.
Galaxy A70 comes with the same 6.7 inches of Super AMOLED screen and that is where the similarities end with Galaxy A80. The smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 665 chipset coupled with 6GB or 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
It does not have a rotating pop-up camera but an ordinary triple camera setup with 32MP of primary lens, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and 5MP depth camera. For selfies, it has a 32MP front camera that resides in the waterdrop notch at the top.
The smartphone has a massive 4500mAh battery with 25W fast charging which will make Galaxy A70 a mark for the power users.
