Royole is an America-based electronics manufacturer that produces innovative products. The company has secretly been working on foldable phones since its inception in 2012 and finally, Royole has introduced the world’s first foldable phone, FlexPai, even before Samsung could.
Though Samsung had already shown its foldable phone, possibly, manufacturing restraints are keeping the Korean giant from launching the phone commercially. Huawei also eyed to launch a foldable device earlier than Samsung but it seems that Royole has already outdone every other manufacturer.
Before heading to the specs and further details, you should keep in mind that FlexPai is not a concept or a prototype. It is a ‘real product’ ready for a widespread sale.
When unfolded, the FlexPai features a big 7.8 inch flexible AMOLED display with a 4:3 aspect ratio along with a resolution of 1440×1920. If the device is folded, users will get two display screens measuring almost 4 inches. One of the screens will have a 16:9 aspect ratio while the other will have an 18:9.
More interestingly, when the device is folded, one screen goes into battery saving mode to conserve the battery while you do all your work on the other screen.
Royole FlexPai is not just an ordinary foldable phone, it packs some powerful specs. Equipped with the latest Snapdragon 855, the phone provides a 6GB or 8GB RAM along with 128GB or 256GB memory.
For the optics, the phone hasn’t been deprived of the latest trends. It packs a dual camera setup with 16MP + 20MP lenses.
Coming to the most important part-the battery. Royole FlexPai comes with a 3800mAh battery which is evidently insufficient, considering the huge 7.8-inch screen size of the device.
Nonetheless, Royole has done it! Sometimes it’s the underdogs that beat the giants in the battle. Though the tug between Samsung and Huawei to launch the foldable phone was going for long, it is finally here and none of the big names have launched it.
Interestingly this early launch will fuel an environment of competition and innovation in the upcoming days. Let’s see what the smartphone giants have in store for us.
