Realme 5

Realme has been teasing its 64MP camera phone for quite a while and finally, it has been confirmed that the device will be called Realme 5.

It is not a surprising detail as many of us expected that the company will jump straight from Realme 3 (Review) to Realme 5 as the number 4 is considered unlucky in the Chinese culture.

The name of the new smartphone has been indirectly confirmed by Madhav Sheth, CEO of Realme who has changed his Twitter name to “Madhav ‘5’Quad” – 5 related to Realme 5 and Quad hints at a quad camera setup.

This is not the first time Madhav has given us a hint through his social media account. Last month, he also changed his Twitter name to “Madhav X” before the launch of Realme X in India.

The company will be unveiling the camera setup in India first on 8th August 2019 and will showcase it in China on 15th August.

As of now, we do not know much about the smartphone but as the company has been talking about launching a higher-end phone for its audience, we can expect the device to boast Snapdragon 855 or 855 Plus chipset under the hood.
