Just a few months back, OPPO axed its decade-old R series and introduced a new lineup of smartphones under the name Reno which caters to the tastes of youth who are looking for flagship devices with top-notch specs. Now, the Chinese smartphone maker has trademarked a new word “Enco” and according to reports, it will be the company’s new series of mobile phones.
The firm filed the trademark application on 28th June at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). Alas, there is not much information that we can extract from the application form but it coincides with the rumors regarding OOPO’s new series of smartphones.
Previously, OPPO’s VP, Brian Shen, revealed in his Weibo post that the company will be bringing a new series of smartphones in the second half of the year. As it seems unlikely that Enco will be the name of a new feature or a technology, we can place our bets that it can be a new series by the Chinese company.
We are still in the dark about the details surrounding OPPO Enco and don’t know whether it is the promised series by the company, so we should not hold our breath until we get more information by the company.
