Oppo Reno 2 series has been launched officially in Pakistan, bringing two phones in the local market; Oppo Reno2 and Oppo Reno2 F, the former being the successor to Reno premium model that we saw earlier in the year. Building upon the similar form factor, the successor is also carrying a shark fin popup camera setup for the front end lens.

Like the previous time, the new iteration also boasts the camera technology as its primary feature that mainly includes the 5x hybrid zoom, clean night shots with the help of Ultra Dark Mode, and a stable video shooting due to Ultra Steady Video feature.

In Oppo Reno2, there are four cameras on the rear side of 48MP (primary), 13MP (telephoto), 8MP (ultrawide), 2MP (B/W) where on the front side, the shark fin pops up to reveal the 16MP wide-angle camera that is assisted by an LED flash.

Oppo says that all four cameras work together for making possible the 5X hybrid zoom by making use of fusing image technology to ensure a smooth zoom transition. However, the 8MP lens can go as wide as 116 degrees.

Oppo is also claiming a better low light photography through its 48MP primary lens that is equipped with Optical Image Stabilization and has an F/1.7 aperture size. There is a powerful NPU inside, and if the light levels reach to 1 lux, even then, it enhances the photo through hardware network-optimized AI noise reduction and Software dynamic exposure adjustments.

This time, Oppo Reno2 has also improved the videography experience. OIS and EIS can help make a stable 1080p video at 60fps.

Apart from the great camera setup, the Oppo Reno2 comes with a 6.5 inches AMOLED screen of 2400 x 1080px resolution, which is protected by a 6th generation Gorilla Glass.

We were expecting a 7th version, but the new series lands with ColorOS 6.1 on top of Android 9.0. There are reports that the Reno series will be upgraded soon to ColorOS 7.0, though. A new chipset of Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G runs the show inside coupled with 8GB RAM and 256GB massive memory.

Oppo has put a 4000 mAh battery inside to power up the device comes with VOOC Flash Charge 3.0, fast charging through a 20W charger out of the box.

There is an in-display fingerprint scanner, face unlocks, and USB Type-C support.

Oppo Reno2 F, on the other side, is a little less privileged brother that carries a popup selfie camera similar to Oppo F11 Pro. It also gives a display of 6.5 inches but with a little less resolution of 1080 x 2340 px resolution and a Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The operating system is similar; however, a Mediatek Chipset MT6771 (Helio P70) runs the phone along with 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM.

The quad-camera setup is a bit different, as well. Reno2 F carries a 48MP primary lens, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP B/W, and 2MP depth sensor for bokeh effects. The motorized camera houses the 16MP lens for selfies, which is very similar in specs the big brother carries.

The battery mechanism is similar as well as there is an in-display fingerprint scanner, USB Type C support, and the face unlock.

A number of celebrities attended the launch event, but Shahryar Munawar and Sadaf Kanwal really stole the show with their dance performance and mingling with the Oppo fans.
