The time has finally come and the Chinese manufacturer Oppo has finally taken the wraps off the much anticipated OPPO Reno but as it unfolds, the company announced not one, but two smartphones on the event, including the Oppo Reno and the Oppo Reno 10X Zoom Edition.
Apparently, 10X zoom capability has become a major selling point for in 2019. Earlier Huawei stunned the world with the amazing camera beast Huawei P30 Pro and now the same can be seen in the Oppo Reno 10X Zoom Edition.
Both the Reno standard edition and the Zoom edition feature full view display without any notches and the selfie camera in both are placed in a never seen before side-swing pop-up mechanism.
OPPO Reno 10X Zoom Edition
The OPPO Reno 10X Zoom Edition flashes an enormous 6.6-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 2340 resolution that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. Thanks to the barely existent bezels, the company claims a high screen body ratio of 93.1% for the device. It also sports an in-display fingerprint scanner which is 28.5% faster than the previous generations, as the company claims.
The device aims to provide a flagship-grade performance and packs a Snapdragon 855 chipset that is paired with 6GB/8GB RAM along with 128GB/256GB internal storage. It hosts the all-new Color OS 6 out of the box including features like Touch boost and Frame boost for better gaming performance.
As for the optics regarding the rear camera, the OPPO Reno 10X Zoom Edition uses a 48MP Sony IMX586 as the primary sensor, paired with a 13MP zoom setup, and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor.
Like the Huawei P30 Pro, Oppo Reno 10X Zoom Edition also uses a periscope lens to achieve such zoom capabilities. It also supports 4K video recording at 60fps and uses all the three microphones for capturing video with a 3D surround sound effect.
The peculiar side swing pop-up houses the 16MP front-facing camera along with an earpiece and a selfie flash. Additionally, it has a massive 4065mAh battery which comes with the company’s amazing VOOC charge 3.0 fast charging method.
Oppo Reno Standard Edition
The Standard Edition is the more pocket-friendly one among the two. Not that its the cheap one but its comparatively less expensive. It also features the same design language as the Oppo Reno 10X Zoom Edition but the specs are toned down to make it more affordable.
It comes with the Snapdragon 710 chipset which is paired with a 6GB or 8GB RAM. The screen size is also smaller with a 6.4-inch display, though its also AMOLED panel.
For the sake of keeping the design identical in both the devices, this one also features the side swing popup selfie camera that has a 16MP lens. The back of the phone has a dual camera with a 48MP sensor and a 5MP sensor so it lacks the zoom capabilities that its elder sibling has.
The battery in the standard edition is a 3765mAh cell that can be charged by the company’s lightning-fast VOOC fast charging method.
