OnePlus has a set pattern of releasing the “T” version shortly after the launch of their flagship killer and same goes for the recently launched OnePlus 6. Though the release date for OnePlus 6T is not official yet, the company is reportedly going to launch the device later this month but that hasn’t stopped the leaks from pouring in.
This time its the official renders that have emerged thanks to Winfuture.de, a popular news outlet. Based on the renders, it’s safe to assume that OnePlus 6T will come in Midnight black and Mirror black versions. However, we expect the phone to break the color monotony and come in other color options as well.
Unlike its predecessor, OnePlus 6T will host a water drop notch- the latest buzz in the industry which most of the mid-range phones are going for, like the recently released Oppo F9.
On the back, the phone hosts a vertically stacked dual camera in the center above the flash and the company’s branding. Another major change is the position of the fingerprint scanner, which is apparently nowhere to be seen. Actually, the sensor is embedded within the AMOLED display just like the Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition.
The removal of the audio jack has made way for a bigger battery – 3700mAh in capacity according to a leaked image. The power button remains on the right of the phone, a few mm below the alert slider while the volume rocker is on the left.
The OnePlus 6T is expected to launch on October 17. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 processor with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It is also expected to run Android 9.0 pie out of the box.
