HMD Global previously released the invites for the launch event on 2nd April in Taiwan and according to different leaks, the company will be unveiling its new Nokia X71, a smartphone that will target the upper mid-range segment of the market.
Early rumors suggested that the smartphone will be branded as the Nokia 8.1 Plus but according to a recent report, it will be Nokia 6 2019 or Nokia 6.2. According to the two FIH OTA tracker screenshots posted on Baidu in China, the smartphone leaker earlier with codename TAS or Taishun is, in fact, Nokia 6 2019 or Nokia X71. The company is also expected too officially launch its much-awaited Nokia 9 Pureview smartphone.
Previously the alleged leak of an email from HMD to some Taiwanese dealers revealed that the new midrange smartphone may come with a 48MP camera. The smartphone is also expected to feature 6.2-inch with Full HD+ resolution screen with a punch hole display. It will be available in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset.
Nokia X series is only meant for China and HMD Global alters the names when it introduces the product for the global masses so, we cannot be sure which smartphone update the company is bringing in the coming days. Though the leaks suggest the new device to be Nokia 6 2019, we still suggest taking the information with a pinch of salt.
