Nokia 8.1 is about to launch on December 5 in Dubai. Several rumors on the tech sites are suggesting it’s the rebranding of same Nokia X7 that was earlier launched with a notch in China.
A source in Nokia hasn’t confirmed it to be the same phone. However, it will be available in the local market for nearly Rs. 70,000 ($ 518 approx) which makes it an upper midrange device.
However, Nokiapoweruser is sure that it is actually the rebranded global version of Nokia X7 that is coming with a 6.17-inch display of 2246 x 1080 resolution and a 19:9 aspect ratio. It gets the power from a 3500 mAh fast charging battery and an Octa-core Snapdragon 710 processor.
The Nokia 8.1 will be available in 4GB/6GB RAM + 64GB/128 GB ROM with each can be upgraded to 400GB memory with an external micrSD that shares slot in the hybrid SIM tray.
On the camera front, the rear houses dual cameras of 12MP + 13 MP and a 20MP selfie snapper on the front.
After the Dubai launch, it will be officially launched in India on December 6, and within the same month, by mid of December at max, the device will hit stores in Pakistan.
Nokia 8.1 will be a major phone for the HMD Global after Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco, but we are still excited about the upcoming flagship Nokia 9 Pureview that is gaining more popularity with its 5 lenses on the rear.
