Finally, Nokia has heard its audience and here come two new smartphones from HMD Global, Nokia 7.2 and Nokia 6.2, which are showing minimum bezels at least, an 87% screen to body ratio for Nokia 7.2 and 82.5% for Nokia 6.2. HMD Global announced five new phones, including these two smartphones, the rest of them are feature phones.
Highlighting feature of Nokia 7.2 is its 48MP triple camera set up inside a ring that comes with Quad Pixel technology and ZEISS Optics, a long prevailed association with Nokia phones. HMD Global has said it has brought many industry-first features in this phone such as the DSLR level pro-bokeh style that can provide exceptional imaging quality at any time of the day. The company claims these bokeh styles are similar to what ZEISS lenses produce to blur the backgrounds or foregrounds in the photos.
Along with this signature blur feature, Nokia 7.2 is designed for low-light imaging with the help of its night mode and AI low light image fusion technology which mainly happens through 48MP primary lens.
Its other two lenses are 8MP (ultra wide) and 5MP (depth sensor). The front of the phone holds a 20MP ZEISS Optics for the selfies inside the waterdrop notch. Overall, the front side boasts 6.3 inches display that is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and gives 1080 x 2280 pix resolution.
There will be two variants in terms of memories, 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB with an option to expand it to 512GB through a microSD card. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core chip will power the phone.
Nokia 7.2 comes with a 3500 mAh battery and a 10W charger with a claim that it would last for two days comfortably, however, the optimization really needs to be tested during our review.

At a much lower price, the Nokia 6.2 is also about imaging and display. It is the first Nokia phone in 6 series to feature a triple camera and PureDisplay technology. It gives 16MP primary lens accompanied by 8MP ultra-wide and 5MP depth sensor and on the front, an 8MP selfie camera. There is no ZEISS association with this phone, so there aren’t many tall claims about its camera tech; however, it gives bokeh portraits and wide-angle shots.
Nokia 6.2 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636, an octa-core chipset, backed by 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB memory setup. There is also a 128GB variant with 4GB RAM support.
The smartphone also features a 3500 mAh battery with similar 10W charger and a 2 days battery life claim.
Both of these phones have been announced with Android 9.0 and Android One, however, both will feature Android 10 soon as told by HMD Global.
The announced price for Nokia 7.2 is 299 to 349 Euros (PKR 52K to PKR 60K approx) and for Nokia 6.2, it is 199 to 249 Euros (PKR 34K – PKR 44K approx)
