Looks like 2019 is the year of foldable phones and even though tech giants like Samsung and Huawei have launched their respective foldable device, Motorola doesn’t seem to lag too far behind. It’s no secret now that the company is working on the Motorola Razr foldable phone.
The device will look like the famous Moto Razr flip phone from 2004 but will have a foldable screen on the inside. Some features of the phone, as well as its schematics, have also been leaked and unlike the bulky Galaxy Fold. Motorola Razr foldable phone seems pretty sleek and handy.
For starters, the second display is placed on the back of the smartphone, and it doesn’t give full access to Android features. Just a few apps will be able to access the second display like Moto Display, Moto Actions, and Moto Camera.
When the smartphone will be unfolded, the secondary screen will act as a trackpad to scroll through webpages in Chrome. There may also be other uses of this second screen and could be enhanced to cover more apps such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter since all of them have scrollable feeds.
If Motorola does it right and the end product is really what the renders and the schematics suggest, I would personally prefer the Motorola Razr foldable phone over the large Huawei Mate X any day.
While we still think that foldable phones are unnecessary, Motorola Razr foldable phone may be able to change that altogether with its enhanced usability instead of just being gimmicky and flashy.
Nonetheless, Motorola Razr foldable phone is certainly something we are looking forwarded to see. It has also made it to our list of the top foldable phones that we expect in 2019. While Motorola will not be the first to launch such a phone, we think it will do it better than others.
