LG has recently launched its much-awaited flagship, LG G7 ThinQ with some amazing specs and top of the line features. Last year’s V30 was a big hit and rumors are that LG is working on its latest V series flagship, LG V40 ThinQ. We should see V40 ThinQ arrive in 2018.
The first confirmation of the phone’s name has come from renowned and usually correct leaker Evan Blass, who tweeted that an upcoming LG handset going by the code name “Storm” was, in fact, the LG V40.

A later tweet by Evan Blass also confirmed that the full name of the handset would be the LG V40 ThinQ.
Now, as far as the LG V40 ThinQ is concerned, that phone is rumored to arrive with a 6.3-inch QHD+ P-OLED display and two 16-megapixel rear-facing cameras. The camera setup may be similar to LG’s previous flagships, one standard lens, and one wide-angle lens. The main camera will include a f/1.6 aperture lens, and in case you were wondering, ‘AI enabled camera’ will be a part of the package as well, just like on the LG G7 ThinQ.
Interestingly, the concept render of the LG V40 ThinQ suggests that the phone will come with minimum bezels and not a notch. Considering the trend in the industry, this notch-less design of V40 ThinQ might be a preference for the users who don’t want to have a notch on their high-end flagship phones.
As for the specs of V40 ThinQ, we have many rumors going around which are emphasizing on almost the same specs for the phone. Since nothing has been official until now, so take these following rumors about the specs with a pinch of salt.
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor
- Adreno 630 GPU
- 6GB/8GB RAM
- 64GB/128GB/256GB UFS 2.1 storage with microSD support
- 16MP Dual Rear Camera
- Dual Front Facing Camera
- Stereo speakers
- 3400mAh battery
- Android 8.0 Oreo
Every company has a pattern to introduce and launch its smartphones. LG V series is usually launched in September or October. The V10 and V20 were October launches, and the V30 was a September launch
We think LG will likely follow the same pattern in 2018, so we’ll see an LG V40 ThinQ launch around the same months its predecessors were launched. Evan Blass has also leaked that the phone will be launched in late summer or early fall.
