LG launched the G7 ThinQ earlier in May, with some amazing specs and top of the line features. Last year’s V30 was a big hit and rumors are that LG is working on its latest V series flagship, LG V40 ThinQ which is strongly expected to arrive in 2018.
For those who are unaware of the recent happenings, Huawei launched its P20 Pro as the world’s first triple camera phone and caused a frenzy in the smartphone industry resulting in every smartphone manufacturer racing for a bezel-less design and triple cameras whereas Samsung is preparing a response to the Huawei’s phone by preparing a triple camera module for its upcoming Galaxy S10 but the original idea came from the Chinese giant whatsoever.
Now, LG is bracing up and is trying to take a step ahead of both Huawei and Samsung by installing a total of 5 cameras in its upcoming LG V40 ThinQ. Yes, you read that right! 5 cameras in a single smartphone.
The phone is said to feature a triple camera setup on its back while a dual camera setup on its front. Although it is a rumor, still if the company manages to equip the LG V40 ThinQ with 5 cameras, it will be the world’s first phone to do so.
The rumors come from Androidpolice which stated that with a dual camera on the front, LG V40 ThinQ will acquire a 3D facial unlock feature just like iPhone X and the Xiaomi Mi 8 and the phone will borrow the design from the company’s latest flagship, G7 ThinQ.
According to Evan Blass, a reputed leaker, the phone is expected to launch in late summer or early fall. As for the specs, the phone will expectedly include
