While the world awaits a foldable display from Samsung next year that might show off triple camera on the rear, Huawei is not ready to miss the chance for taking another lead just like the triple camera in P20 Pro.
While talking to a German media outlet, Richard Hu, CEO of Huawei Business Group revealed that Huawei is all ready to surprise the world with a foldable display.
According to him, the phone will have enough power and screen size that it will let you think of replacing your computer with your phone.
“Why are you still using a computer? Probably because the smartphone display is too small for you. We will change that. It is conceivable that a display can be folded out”. Richard said.
As the reports are pouring in, the phone might use OLED flexible display on which major manufacturers including Japan Display, LG Display, and Samsung Display are working on for years.
Although, there is no mention of a name for this new phone which is expected to land somewhere in the mid of 2019 Huawei hints it will get its power from Huawei’s second generation AI enabled homebuilt Kirin 980 chipset that will also power the upcoming Mate 20 Pro.
Huawei’s deputy chairman Ken Hu, at World Economic Forum’s annual meeting, confirmed that the foldable display would also support 5G technology making it 100 times faster than what we experience today on 4G network.
