Earlier it seemed more of a rumor that Huawei Nova 4 would be the upcoming phone from the Chinese manufacturer to come with a punched hole on the front screen while replacing the weird notch that has its functionality compromises when turned on.
Our guess was also in favor of Nova series since all other major flagships, P20 and Mate 20 Pro, have hit the shelves and there is no other series left but Nova, and, almost every tipster is naming it Nova 4 as well. Also, the fact can’t be ruled out that Huawei wouldn’t let Samsung take the credit of launching something new – a hole in the display which it is calling HIAA (Hole In Active Area) and a feature more dedicated for the upcoming Galaxy S10.
The SuperAMOLED panels for the S10 are reportedly under mass production at the moment, but the world might not hear a word about the launch date until January 2019. However, there are reports about Galaxy A8s coming earlier than the S10 that is believed to have a similar Infinity-O display. Sammobile reports Galaxy A8s getting FCC certification for a launch expecting in January 2019.
So, coming back to Nova 4, we believe, Huawei won’t wait until next year not only because it has to embarrass Samsung, but also it is showing off the handset now publicly. Just recently, it took advantage of the 18th birthday of Chinese singer where it presented the front of Nova 4 unofficially WinFuture reports. The punched hole can be seen on the left of display that apparently has a higher screen to body ratio, but there is no accurate understanding since the phone is packed in a rear cover. There is nothing else we know as of yet about the specs of the phone but one thing is quite clear at this stage, a Chinese launch imminent.
