Huawei announced its first smartphone, Honor Play, with GPU Turbo technology and 4D gaming. The phone after early rumors was dubbed as the best smartphone for the perfect gaming experience and Huawei ended presenting us with what it promised.
Honor Play is basically a gaming-centric phone and GPU Turbo technology makes it very special in the market. The revolutionary GPU Turbo technology increases graphics processing efficiency to 60% with 30% reduction in power consumption.
As claimed by the company, Honor Play beats other flagship phones like iPhone X, Xiaomi Mi8 and even Mi Mix 2S by providing better gaming experience with GPU Turbo technology and 4D gaming.
Now coming to the basic specs, the phone features a 6.3-inch FHD+ 2340 x 1080 display with a notch on top that can be hidden. This way the display takes up 89% of the front surface of the phone. Honor Play comes with an improved back offering better handling experience and has a metal back with antenna lines.
The phone sports a Kirin 970 chipset (Mali-G72 MP12) with two memory configurations, 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 64GB. Honor Play is equipped with a dual rear camera of 16MB aided by AI for object recognition and on the front, it has a 12MB selfie camera.
The company has provided a pretty decent 3750mAh battery for this gaming phone and it will be enough for a day worth of gaming. It will be available in three colors; Nebula Purple, Aurora Blue, and Midnight Black.
In terms of price, the phone is cheaper than Honor 10 and will cost $312 for 4GB+64GB and $375 for 6GB+64GB versions. There is another special version named as Honor Play Cool that costs $390. It will go on sale on June 11 in China while the special edition Honor Play Cool will be available in July.
