HTC U12+ detailed specs and design leaked ahead of launch

We are a few days away from the launch of HTC U12+, the latest addition in flagship line from the Taiwanese manufacturer but with leaks pouring in time to time, we have a pretty good idea of what to expect from the company.

The recent leak happens to be the most comprehensive and was shared by Evan Blass on twitter whose information is on spot almost every time. That being said, the information is still a leak and is not official so anything could be potentially changed before the official launch on May 23rd.

From a design viewpoint, the HTC U12+ doesn’t look an astounding phone. With a liquid surface design, the phone has a glass back curved on the edges. The rear dual camera sits horizontally in the center which looks a bit awkward and the fingerprint scanner rests below the camera.

The Bezels of the device look slim too and surprisingly, HTC U12+ doesn’t host the notch on its screen like most of the flagships in the market. The specs of the phone, however, are very interesting. Here is the detailed specs sheet leaked by Blass on twitter.

The most notable features of the leaked spec sheets are:

  • Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, upgradable to Android P
  • IP68 certification, water, and dust resistant
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 845
  • 6-inch display with 2880 x 1440 resolution in an 18:9
  • 6GB of RAM and the choice of 64GB or 128GB of storage
  • microSD expansion slot
  • 12MP + 16MP dual rear camera
  • 8MP + 8MP dual front camera
  • Always-on listening support for Google Assistant
  • 3,500mAh battery with Quick Charge
  • Edge Sense

These leaked specs are actually pretty impressive. If this is all true, the HTC U12+ will be a great device. Let’s wait and see how well the phone is going to stack up against the newly launched OnePlus 6, LG G7 ThinQ and other flagships in the market.
