Honor is ready to jump into the market of 5G smartphones and will be bringing its very own 5G enabled device in the fourth quarter of 2019. The news was confirmed by Zhao Ming, president of Honor in an interview after the launch of Honor 9X series.

Honor 5G smartphone is already in the testing phase and is in the final stages of development. According to Ming, 2019 is the year when the 5G technology will take off in China and the smartphone company does not want to miss out on taking advantage of the next-generation network.

Huawei has already started its 5G smartphones journey with Mate X and will be bringing Huawei Mate 30 5G device in December. Thus, many of us were already expecting the arrival of similar technology in the affordable Honor devices.

The upcoming Honor 5G smartphone will most likely depend upon Huawei’s Balong 5000 5G modem which can reach 4.6Gbps of speed on the main 5G frequency band and up to 6.5Gbps speed on the high-frequency band.

According to the company’s president, Honor 5G smartphone will provide exceptional performance while the phone’s design will reach a new standard in mobile manufacturing.

Since Honor is a smartphone brand which aims to bring affordable smartphones with top-notch specs, we have to wait and see how the Chinese smartphone maker will position Honor 5G device in the market.
