Ever since the US government put Huawei on its Entity List, millions of users across the globe have been stuck in the limbo waiting for the news regarding the fate of Android updates on their Huawei and Honor smartphones. The 90 days reprieve is coming close to the end, which will result in the suspension of the company’s Android License for good but there is still hope for better days.
Honor has promised to bring Android Q update for its recently launched Honor 20 series. The company released the statement in the UK on Wednesday where it assured people that the all Honor phone users can continue to enjoy all apps and Google services, asserting that the devices will receive full-service support accordingly.
It also informed that Honor 20 series would receive the OS update which is scheduled to release later this year by saying, “Our most popular current devices, the Honor 20 series Honor 20 Lite, Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro, will be able to access Android Q.”
As of now, we are not sure how the company will pull this off, especially after the US government going after Huawei in full force. Since it is a sub-group of Huawei, there is also a possibility about the introduction of Hongmeng OS later this year, but right now, we have no other option to take the company for their word.
