Finish smartphone manufacturer HMD Global has been teasing the Nokia 9 Pureview for months and finally after much wait, the company launched the device that comes as the world’s first phone with a Penta camera setup on its back.
The phone was launched on an event in the MWC 2019 mobile show. It is priced at $699 and is set to go on sale in March, however, the phone is immediately available in selected markets just after its launch.
Talking about the highlight of the device, the phone packs 5 rear camera sensors, all of which are 12MP sensors. Interestingly there doesn’t seem to be a wide angle or an ultra wide angle lens like the Mate 20 Pro or the recently launched Galaxy S10. Two of the lenses are color lenses while the other three are the monochrome lens.
It is yet to be seen how the Nokia 9 performs against the prevailing flagships, that comes as the claimants of the peak in smartphone photography.
For selfies, Nokia 9 PureView has a 20MP sensor. The company has also shaken hands with Adobe Lightroom to release a custom lens profile for the phone. The camera app in the device is also upgraded to next generation pro camera.
The Nokia 9 Pureview comes with a 5.99-inch QHD+ pOLED Nokia PureDisplay with 18:9 aspect ratio. Looking at the Nokia 6.1 Plus, we can safely assume that Nokia phones come with amazing build quality. Similarly, Nokia 9 Pureview is manufacture with a 6000 series aluminum Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and has IP67 rating which makes it dust and water resistant.
Astonishingly, being a flagship phone, HMD Global decided to quip the phone with an older processor. It comes with a Snapdragon 845 and has only one variant in terms of memory which comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal memory.
It has 3320mAh battery that supports fast charging as well as the Qi wireless charging. Other features include a facial unlock and an in display fingerprint scanner for enhanced security. Nokia 9 PureView does not include a headphone jack and comes in only one color; Midnight Blue.
Four other devices have also been launched at the same event that comes at much higher prices than the Nokia 9 Pureview. These devices include three smartphones; Nokia One Plus, Nokia 3, Nokia 4 and a feature phone Nokia 210.
