Galaxy A8s Goes Official With Infinity-O Display and Triple Rear Cameras

Owing to the early rumors and leaks, much anticipation had been built for the Galaxy A8s, being the world’s first phone with a camera hole in the display. Samsung, today has finally taken the wraps off the device in China and it looks just like we expected.

The hole in display is not the only notable feature in the phone. Samsung has also packed some impressive specs but on the downside, it is the first Galaxy phone without a headphone jack.

From design point of view, the device comes in three colors-
Gradient Black, Elves Blue, and Aurora Green. Galaxy A8s comes with a glass body that encloses a metal frame.

The middle camera among the rear triple camera setup has a ring around it which looks pretty slick. The phone sports a 3D glass back that can change colors based on which angle the light hits.

The Galaxy A8s has a 6.4-inch display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and though the screen resolution was not announced we already know that it’s 1080 x 2340. On the front the screen is not entirely bezel-less. It sports tiny bezels all around which get even thicker at the chin.

The hole in the display is considerably big, though we were hoping it to be smaller than it actually is. It remains to be seen what kind of tech Hauwei will be using for its upcoming Nova 4 that comes with the same kind of hole in the display.

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 710 – an upper mid-range processor – and paired with 6GB or 8GB of RAM. Irrespective of the RAM variant, you get 128GB of storage.

Like the earlier launched Galaxy A7 (2018), the Galaxy A8s also has a triple rear camera setup. One is a 10MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom paired with a 24MP f/1.7 main sensor and a 5MP f/2.2 sensor for portrait effect. The front of the phone hosts a 24MP snapper.

The phone also houses a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. As for the battery, it is equipped with a 3,300 mAh battery and run on Android Oreo. Samsung has not unveiled the price of the phone which means we still have to cope up with what we have for now but by looking at the specs, we can safely assume that it is going to around Rs 100,000 in Pakistan.
