Meizu was founded in 2003 as a consumer electronics company manufacturing MP3 players and then MP4 players as well down the road. The company shifted its focus to smartphones in 2007 with Meizu M8 which was among the first phones to offer a capacitive touchscreen.
Meizu mobile phones embraced the Android operating system in 2011 and the very next year it unveiled its custom-made Flyme OS for its smartphones based on the Android operating system.
It was also the first company to offer the much-trending 128GB of storage in Meizu MX3 smartphone back in 2013 and since then Meizu mobile phones has worked on expanding its devices outside of the borders as well.
