Could Vivo Nex be the game changer for Vivo?

Vivo Nex

Last month, Vivo launched its new flagship Vivo Nex which was under radar since MWC, Will this fresh-in-design smartphone be the game changer for the company? Will it provide the company enough boosts to start a journey to be on the Himalayas of smartphone market? Let’s find out.

The most impressive feature about the Vivo Nex is the massive 86.7 percent screen-to-body ratio, second to only Oppo Find X in the smartphone world.

The Vivo Nex comes with an 8 MP pop-up front-facing camera, which when started, will make a sound to notify the user and even got rid of the standard receiver speaker and replaced it with their piezoelectric earpiece that creates sound by vibrating the screen and the display. As a result, there is no notch on the device but there is still a tiny small chin.

The phone’s battery is a large one, at 4,000 mAh, and Vivo is using a full-HD+ AMOLED panel for the display. The back of the Vivo Nex is the usual glass sandwich design, but Vivo gave the back glass this pattern of tiny individual grids that diffracts light. Basically, this phone has a black glass but when light shines off it there is a rainbow effect.

There is the more expensive one called the NEX S which comes with Snapdragon 845 SoC along with an in-display fingerprint reader and 8GB RAM. The NEX A which is powered by the newly launched Snapdragon 710 SoC has no in-display fingerprint reader as the sensor is positioned on the backside of the device. It supports 6GB of RAM.

We haven’t reviewed this phone till now, so we can’t tell you that how the processor, in-display sensor performs? and how camera behaves? but on a technical level, the NEX S looks like a remarkable machine, a beauty in hand. Company also claimed that it sold out in just 4 hours.

Vivo Nex has provided the company with the push start and has also given global attention to the company.

Forty-five years ago, Motorola engineer Martin Cooper placed the first call from a “real” cellular telephone, and an industry was born. This industry not only exploded, but it also proved to be one of the most innovation hungry industry of the world. Today, smartphones are an essential part of our lives and every year we see substantial overhauling in them.

Now it all depends upon Vivo, are they ready to join the marathon? And for that they need to bring good quality and best performing phones in the market year after year. Innovation is the part of recipe, not the only ingredient.

Vivo is an excellent example of a Chinese company embracing new technologies and taking risks. It looks like this era belongs to China and Chinese goods. Vivo as a Chinese company needs to follow the strategy of Huawei. Vivo Nex has fulfilled its purpose by amusing the public and tech-analysts, now ball is in the company’s court.
